Completed projects

This page shows photos of some completed projects, including the dip meter I made at the Pontefract radio club's Tuesday construction evenings.

GDO
Battery conditioner
This battery conditioner is a box containing four resistors and a fan.
It allows SLAs to be fully discharged and - rather conveniently, I thought - power the cooling fan as they do so
SDR built by Chris Pearson, M0JRQ from an Elektor design
I was immediately taken by the design of this SDR in the May 2007 issue of Elektor.
With a PCB available from the Elektor shop, the only tricky bits were getting hold of the ICs and then soldering the two SMDs.
It works a treat - I've used both the G8JCF software and SDRadio by I2PHD
Dip meter
The Pontefract and District Amateur Radio Society has a long history of great construction projects.
Early in 2007 I started attending the Tuesday evening construction group and my first project was this GDO - designed and prototyped by Colin, G0NQE, I made it alonside about ten others
